― Meet The Founder

Hi, I'm Summer Huni, LPC, M.Ed

I'm Summer Huni, M.Ed., LPC, a licensed trauma therapist, EMDR therapist, and founder of Soul Healing Counseling. I provide trauma therapy in Atlanta, Georgia, and virtual services throughout Georgia and South Carolina, specializing in childhood & relational trauma, sexual trauma, anxiety, and Christian counseling.

I help teens and adults understand and heal the lasting effects of trauma, including patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, shame, fear, and emotional disconnection. Many of the individuals I work with appear strong and capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected from their authentic selves on the inside.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and insightful, combining EMDR, Brainspotting, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and nervous system regulation to help you understand the roots of your struggles, process unresolved wounds, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust within yourself. For those who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated Christian counseling that thoughtfully incorporates your relationship with God into the healing process.

I believe healing is more than managing symptoms. It's about understanding the wounds beneath them and reconnecting with who you are beyond the patterns you've learned to survive.

Together, we'll work toward greater self-awareness, self-compassion, emotional freedom, and deeper healing of your mind, body, and soul.

You don't have to carry this alone.

“Together, we’ll heal the wounds of your past, break the patterns keeping you stuck, and help you reconnect with the person you were created to be.”

    EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy helps teens and adults heal from trauma, distressing memories, childhood wounds, anxiety, and painful life experiences that may continue to affect emotions, relationships, and the nervous system.

EMDR therapy provides a structured, trauma-informed approach to help the brain process experiences that still feel unresolved. Through EMDR, clients can reduce emotional distress, shift painful beliefs, and develop a greater sense of safety, self-trust, and connection.

    Christian Counseling & Trauma Therapy

Christian counseling offers a compassionate space for teens and adults to address childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, relational wounds, and other emotional struggles while honoring their Christian faith.

At Soul Healing Counseling, we integrate evidence-based trauma therapy with faith-based practices, such as Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection, when desired. Together, we can explore how past experiences have shaped your relationship with yourself, others, and God while working toward greater emotional safety, self-compassion, trust, and connection.

― Our approach: Healing Your Mind, Body & Soul

Trauma Healing for Mind, Body & Soul

At Soul Healing Counseling, we believe trauma can affect more than your thoughts - it can shape your emotions, relationships, nervous system, sense of identity, and even your faith. That's why our approach to trauma therapy considers the whole person: mind, body, and soul.

We view the soul as your mind, will, and emotions, the core of who you are. Trauma, painful relationships, and overwhelming experiences can leave wounds that influence how you see yourself, connect with others, and move through the world. Healing isn't about erasing your past; it's about understanding what happened, tending to the parts of you that still carry it, and creating new patterns rooted in safety, self-compassion, and connection.

Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and may integrate EMDR, Brainspotting, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, parts work, and self-compassion, with Christian faith incorporated when desired.

Our goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported as you process what you've been through, reconnect with your authentic self, and move toward greater peace, freedom, and wholeness.
